I am a student of film and am very disillusioned by the current trend in Hollywood -- the nudity is prurient and usually has little to do with the story or meaning of the film. I am in particular a fan of French cinema from the late 60s to early 80s, but am not as knowledgeable as I should be about subsequent developments on the continent and Latin America. To be sure, I get aesthetic pleasure from viewing attractive people in the nude, but the main reason for wanting to join is to become more informed about mature and meaningful films that don't always turn on a chase or a city blowing up. Given the major role sexuality and eroticism play in the lives of many, if not most, thinking people, it is inevitable that a serious film will address such issues, either explicitly or implicitly.
